Dr. Kruti Patel

Meet Kruti Patel DMD (“Dr. Kruti”)

When it comes to creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Kruti Patel achieves the outstanding results you might expect from someone so academically accomplished, and with such strong clinical skills. What some patients find surprising, though, is the friendly, calming, and very gentle manner in which she delivers excellent dental care. We asked “Dr. Kruti” to join Monokian Dentistry because she meets our high standards in every way, she shares our commitment to excellence, and she has demonstrated that she puts her patients’ priorities, health, and comfort before all else.

Education

As a college sophomore Dr. Kruti participated in a program that introduced her to various medical specialties, and allowed her to shadow a different doctor one afternoon each week. Through this experience she developed a general interest in healthcare careers, and eventually a specific interest in dentistry. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Drexel University’s Pennoni Honors College with a degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Kruti earned her doctoral degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, again graduating summa cum laude. She describes herself as one of those unusual students who enjoyed every day of dental school.

At Penn Dental She earned Honors in Clinical Dentistry, a recognition of her advanced clinical achievements.  She also earned Honors in Community Service for spending over 120 volunteer hours educating doctors, nurses, and West Philly residents about the detection and prevention of head and neck cancer.

Dr. Kruti stays abreast of dentistry’s latest innovations through ongoing training, including participating in workshops offered by Spear Education, a premier provider of advanced dental education.

Something Personal

Dr. Kruti is a self-described foodie. What’s her favorite cuisine? Her eclectic taste makes it difficult to choose, but she’s narrowed it down to Thai, Italian, Mexican, and Indian. “My parents were always introducing me to new cuisines, and I still like to expand my palate.”    Her favorite place to eat is Zahav, a modern Israeli restaurant in Philadelphia’s Society Hill known for transforming simple foods into artful culinary masterpieces.

Dr. Kruti enjoys preparing food too. Given her love of international cuisines it’s a little surprising that her favorite dish to make is mac and cheese.  However, it makes sense when you hear her recipe which features onions, four varieties of grated cheese, Dijon mustard, and a cast iron skillet.

Dr. Kruti and her husband Akash married in early 2018.  They love to travel, domestically and internationally. They recently visited Tuscany, Maui, India, San Francisco, and the Dominican Republic; Hong Kong and Thailand are right around the corner. They love to experience the unique offerings of each destination, and they particularly treasure the friendships they’ve made on the road.
