At Monokian Dentistry, we use dental technology to take accurate images of patients' smiles, plan treatment, and create a comfortable environment for our patients. Modern dental technology makes treating our patients easier and provides care customized to each individual's smile. In addition, digital technology makes dentistry more comfortable for our patients and allows us to provide more efficient care. We welcome our patients to explore the different types of dental technology that we provide in our Marlton and Haddonfield, NJ, dental offices.
Modern Dental Technology
Our office uses the latest dental technology to help diagnose and treat patients and make their visits more comfortable. This dental technology can include:
CBCT
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) systems create high-resolution, 3-dimensional images of the teeth, gums, and oral structure. CBCT scans take hundreds of pictures to create a complete image of a patient's lower face. When we take CBCT scans, patients stand in the middle of the machine while it rotates around them, capturing 3-D X-ray images. We typically use CBCT scans for diagnostics and treatment planning for patients with crooked teeth, TMJ disorders, missing teeth, and other oral health problems.
3Shape TRIOS Scanners
The TRIOS wireless handheld scanner can create quick, accurate dental impressions. This intraoral scanner is connected to a computer to create a three-dimensional image of the smile. We can make a complete scan of the smile in just under a minute. Our dentists take intraoral scans to determine accurate tooth position, monitor dental health, and aid in treatment planning. In addition, intraoral scanners like the TRIOS scanner create digital impressions. Because intraoral scans are digital, we can share these scans with dental labs to help assist us in creating beautiful healthy smiles.
IQAir HealthPro with HyperHEPA Filtration
We use IQAir HealthPro air purifiers with HyperHEPA filters that filter out 99.5% of ultrafine pollution particles. During treatment, these purifiers use an aerosol suction system to minimize infection and irritants. IQAir purifiers also capture particles generated during dental procedures that might otherwise remain airborne—cutting down on possible infections, asthma attacks, or allergy irritants.
PRF Therapy
We use Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) during tooth extractions to improve healing. Utilizing plasma, which is rich in white blood cells, helps heal patients after extractions. First, we extract blood and place it in a centrifuge to separate its components. Then, we inject PRF into extraction sites to improve the healing process for our patients.
3-D Models
We use 3-D models to develop tooth crowns, dental bridges, and implant restorations as diagnostic tools. By capturing images of the smile and creating a three-dimensional model of the teeth and gums, we can get a detailed view of where patients require restorative care.
Air Abrasion
Air abrasion is used to improve the bond strength of dental fillings and bonded restorations. We also use air abrasion to prepare teeth for fillings and treatments.
Zoom WhiteSpeed
We provide Zoom WhiteSpeed treatment in our office. Zoom WhiteSpeed uses a whitening gel and LED light to ensure active ingredients penetrate the tooth enamel. This whitening treatment provides effective, same-day results for patients who want brighter, whiter smiles.
Clear Aligners
SureSmile and Invisalign are clear aligners that gradually straighten teeth over time. Clear aligners are less noticeable than traditional metal braces. SureSmile and Invisalign aligners are removable, so patients can naturally eat, brush, and floss. Invisalign uses thicker and more durable materials than SureSmile, while SureSmile is less noticeable.
Intraoral Cameras
Our high-definition intraoral cameras help us capture clear images of the smile. These cameras are connected to computer monitors so we can show patients photos that help explain any problems or concerns associated with their oral health. We can also share images from intraoral cameras with specialists as needed.
Animation
We show patients animations that demonstrate conditions and treatments. Digital animations are a part of patient education, helping patients understand their dental problems and the treatment we offer to improve their oral health and smile aesthetics.
24/7 Online Appointment Scheduling
We currently offer online appointment scheduling for patients with hygiene appointments. If you require routine dental cleaning, we encourage you to schedule your next visit on our website.
